Accurate found a way to cut a lot of material out of the frame while still retaining the same strength. This lead to a frame and sideplate that is significantly lighter than a BX. The BV-500 still uses Accurate's patented TwinDrag system that puts out 25+ lbs at max, yet weighs seven ounces lighter than a BX-500! That is huge! Not only can you fish longer without fatigue but you can put the BV-500 on the newer generation of rods that are lighter, thinner and more powerful! Accurate outfitted these reels with strong, stainless steel gears,Ā stainless steel ball bearings, andĀ a huge anti-reverse bearing for precision and performance. This bearing eliminates any chance of failure. The lever drag system is best in class. It is progressiveĀ with a single stop at strike and no button to push when you want to move towards full.Ā Put all of these components together and you've got a reel that is incredibly strong and able to handle big fish, while being light in weight, and incredibly fun to fish!
